The Opportunity
We are recruiting for a Trainee Actuary to join our Actuarial Team, based in Dublin 4. In this role you will work with a team of actuaries and analysts to conduct capital modelling, planning and profitability reporting, and will work closely with colleagues in Pricing, Reserving, Data Analytics and across various business units within our General Insurance Business.
Role Responsibilities
- Maintain and develop the suite of profit testing tools and capital allocation models, automating and enhancing processes where possible to increase efficiency
- Prepare periodic profitability reports with recommendations to senior management, at both local and Allianz Group level
- Prepare data for analyses using relevant data manipulation language such as SAS, R or Python.
- Optimise the reinsurance programme structure
- Contribute to the annual planning process
- Make best use of available and latest datasets to develop approaches and identify emerging issues in the market.
- Collaborate with the relevant stakeholders, sharing knowledge and developing new products and solutions to business problems
- Contribute to the annual planning process
- Support organisation wide strategic projects and participate in international Allianz group projects
Experience, Qualifications and Competencies
Essential
- Minimum of 2.1 result in a relevant third level qualification e.g.; Actuarial Science, Maths, Economics and Finance, Statistics
- 1+ years GI Pricing experience
- Excellent numerate and analytical skills
- Commitment to completing the Actuarial examinations
Desirable
- Proficiency in RADAR and EMBLEM software
- Previous experience using actuarial or data manipulation software, e.g. Python, SAS, R, SQL
- Previous experience working within a corporate or financial services environment
