Role/ Department:

Reporting to the AML Investor on-boarding manager, the role requires the candidate to support the Ireland operations team-leader and their partners with complex AML cases, escalations, client calls and meeting SLA’s in accordance with AML regulations and Northern Trust policies and procedures.

The key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Assist the operations team leader with review and quality check of complex AML cases ensuring that the highest standard is maintained for our clients and their investors.
  • Assist with managing escalations and approvals to compliance, fund MLRO’s and fund board’s.
  • Assist with the resolution of more complex problems and critical issues as referred to the Investor AML Daily Operations team, as well as those received from other internal and/or related external parties.
  • Attend calls with clients and investors as required, delivering a quality AML service at all times.
  • Support the continuous improvement of the AML operating model, bringing ideas and solutions to the table and working with line management to implement these.
  • Work with line management to ensure that the Investor AML team meets the required audit, risk and compliance standards as determined, from time to time, in accordance with changes in legislation and guidance.
  • Maintain an up to date knowledge of AML regulation and best practice and uses this knowledge to promote enhancements to Northern Trust’s AML processes and procedures.
  • Take responsibility for timely and accurate completion of your workload
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with the Northern Trust Transfer Agency and Client Services Departments, as well as other key stakeholders, to deliver a robust AML service to Northern Trust’s client and investor base.
  • Ad-hoc work as required from time to time by AML Management.

Skills/ Qualifications:

The successful candidate will benefit from having:

  • Knowledge of day-to-day AML and Transfer Agency operations and the wider funds administration business.
  • Strong organisational and communication (written and verbal) skills.
  • Problem solving and logic based approach to their work.
  • Ability to research, understand and deliver solutions to issues, including more complex issues as agreed with line management.
  • Effective risk management.
  • Previous experience in an AML role is a must. Preferably in the area of onboarding and ongoing monitoring of Investors and their accounts.
  • Detailed knowledge of the AML regulatory environment in Ireland.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines and drive workloads forward using own initiative.
  • General knowledge of Microsoft Office applications relating to designated areas of responsibility.
  • Comfortable & competent presenting ideas and solutions, including to senior management.
  • Continuous improvement mindset.
