PE Global Recruitment have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Project Director to join our client on an exciting project in Cork. This project involves a Joint Venture between 2 Semi-State Power Generation Entities and a Private GeoEnergy asset development organisation.
The Project:
The Project, which lies offshore in Cork, represents a unique opportunity to deliver large-scale energy security of supply for Ireland which in turn will support the expansion of renewable energy production (wind and solar) and facilitate the development of an indigenous green hydrogen sector in Ireland in the years ahead. The project focusses on the re-development of decommissioned gas reservoirs just off the Cork Coast. This would involve the development of assets to facilitate large-scale molecular energy storage of hydrogen.

The initial focus of the appointee to this role will be to deliver the first stage gate milestones. Below are the key accountabilities of the position.
- Assume full responsibility for the gas storage project. Personally drive the project forward to deliver agreed targets, milestones, and objectives. It will also include enabling close co-operation with the representatives of the shareholders, the support of which will be required to deliver the goals and objectives.

- Proactively identify evolving market, technical and commercial dynamics, manage and review the performance of plans, forecasts, budgets, and strategic objectives for the project, adopting a proactive approach to managing communications with key stakeholders and participants to ensure the project stays on track.
- Keep the Steering Committee informed and advised, reporting regularly on both plus and minus factors that are relevant to performance against plan.
Key Requirements:
- Degree qualified, most likely with a postgraduate qualification, a driven, self-motivated, self-sufficient and commercially astute leader with a proven track record in project management preferably with experience or some knowledge involving offshore facilities and associated subsea and onshore infrastructure.
- Decisive and influential, capable of making key decisions and standing by them under pressure. The maturity to accept a high degree of responsibility and the personal presence and gravitas to command respect amongst and influence the various stakeholder groups.
- The attitude and mindset to go the extra mile to exceed expectations, whilst delivering performance against a plan. Ideally accustomed to operating in a lean organisational structure, alternatively will demonstrate the personal characteristics required to be successful in such a set up.
- Experience developing and delivering project plans in a complex stakeholder set up that includes Partners, Government departments and industry organisations. Will ideally have experience delivering projects where public consultation was a required component. Pre-sancti0n project development experience is of interest.

- Conscientious, diligent in approach, with the discipline to see plans through to completion whilst effectively managing evolving market, technical, project and commercial dynamics.
- A resilient, delivery-orientated individual with strength of character, high integrity, and personal stability. Confident, but with the humility necessary to engender effective collaboration to enable delivery of the project. Will possess the appetite and substantial drive and energy required to take on a demanding but interesting and rewarding mandate.
