Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver compliance reviews in line with the Compliance Monitoring Plan to ensure that existing 1st and 2nd Lines of Defence controls are operating effectively, including, but not limited to:
  • Regulatory licences
  • Trading & Settlement Code; Grid Codes; and Statutory obligations.
  • Ongoing monitoring of the application and effectiveness of key risk management frameworks in place, specifically:
  • Compliance Management Framework;
  • Information Governance Framework;
  • Business Resilience Framework;
  • 3rd Party Risk Management Framework; and Risk Management Framework.
  • Ongoing monitoring of the the firms subsidiariesâ adherence to the Code of Practice for the Governance of State Bodies;
  • Perform regular review of the application of key corporate ethics-related policy obligations across the Group and/or associated entities including Protected Disclosures, Fraud, Anti Bribery & Corruption, Codes of Conduct;
  • Monitoring the Groupâs governance-related publications to ensure these are published in line with best practice;
  • Assess the operating effectiveness of key controls in place to manage risks across the Group;
  • Monitor changes in the regulatory, statutory and corporate governance environments across multiple jurisdictions;
  • Liaise with other 2nd Line of Defence units (Legal, Health & Safety, Finance, Enterprise Security, Regulation) to ensure co-ordination of assurance activities; and Assist in the delivery of training, development and support to the business on governance, risk and ethics-related topics across the Group.

Essential knowledge, skills and experience:

  • Qualified to degree level or professional qualification in a relevant discipline.
  • Strong analytical, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of corporate governance codes and guidance such as the Code of Practice for the Governance of State Bodies, UK Code of Corporate Governance etc.
  • Strong organisational, planning and process management skills.
  • Able to build credibility and strong relationships with stakeholders in a cross functional environment with ability to influence and engage in constructive challenge.
  • Excellent presentation and communications skills, verbal and written.
  • Ability to take information and present it to stakeholders in a non-complex manner.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritise under pressure of deadlines, whilst working independently.
  • Knowledge and/or prior experience of working in the electricity sector and/or a regulated environment is helpful, but not essential.
