Scopely is looking for a talented and experienced Senior 3D Character Artist to join our Star Trek: Fleet Command team in Dublin or Barcelona on a remote or hybrid basis. We can support applicants with visa sponsorship and relocation assistance.

Star Trek Fleet Command's ongoing success goes from strength to strength. Our in-house developed 4X MMO was launched in 2018 and continues to evolve, being consistently one of the top 10 gross revenue Massive Multiplayer Strategy games on the market.

What You’ll Do

As a Senior 3D Character Artist on the art team you will be working closely with the Art Director to make their artistic vision come to life, sculpting detailed high-poly character models as well as optimized low-poly versions for real-time game engine integration. You will also work independently and collaboratively with a diverse team of experienced developers.

  • Work with the Art Director to create visually innovative, high-fidelity realistic 3D characters
  • Translate concepts into game ready assets by creating modular and reusable assets
  • Ensure that the final in-game characters are consistent with the initial concept
  • Must be able to drive an idea from conception to completion
  • Help establish and define 3D pipelines, standards, templates, and asset budgets
  • Work closely with technical artists in integrating 3D characters into Unity and applying textures and materials
  • You will work efficiently to organize, prioritize and complete tasks within a schedule at high quality
  • Consistently delivering quality ideas and assets on time
What We’re Looking For

  • You will be able to demonstrate a history of creating stunning realistic character assets, ensuring likeness in your work
  • Experience in shipping multiple titles in your career as a 3D character artist - at least 5+ years of experience
  • Experience in environment creation across different platforms (mobile and PC a bonus)
  • Extremely proficient in 3D modeling: 3dsMax, Maya, Zbrush, Blender, etc
  • Extremely proficient in 2D texturing: Photoshop
  • Extremely proficient in 3D texturing tools: Substance, 3DCoat, etc
  • Experience in Unity importing and optimizing assets
  • Positive attitude and an ability to receive and provide objective feedback
  • Experience with PBR materials
  • You have in-depth knowledge of technical limitations and requirements for in game art assets
  • Experience with character rigging and skinning
