Primary duties include: 



Teamwork:


ï§ Work collaboratively within cross-functional teams



Communication: 


⢠Good verbal and written communication skills to understand and communicate technical jargon to technical and non-technical stakeholders 



Technical responsibilities (independently and team members oversight) : 


ï§ Develop, construct, test, and maintain solutions architecture


ï§ Identify ways to improve data reliability, efficiency, and quality


ï§ Ability to code following best practices and review codebase


ï§ Ability to write SQL queries with performance and best standards in mind


 


Requirements: 


ï§ Bachelorâs degree required (in data science, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science, Finance, Machine learning, Econometrics, Physics or related quantitative disciplines). 


ï§ Masters on PHD in the field is a plus


ï§ Certifications in AWS and/or GCP


ï§ Familiarity with JIRA & Agile frameworks like SAFE is a plus 


Leadership:  


⢠Experience in owning the technical delivery of part of a project 


⢠Mentoring other team members 


⢠Ability to deliver to short timelines and under pressure 


⢠Desire to become a technical SME 


 


Technical skills 


Intermediate proficiency in the following (work independently):


⢠Big Data Technologies


⢠Hadoop, Spark, Hive, Impala


⢠Strong in any programming language. Ideally Python.


⢠Strong in SQL


⢠Databases & Warehouses: Experience with Relational and any NoSQL databases like DynamoDB or MongoDb or cloud equivalent.


⢠Cloud experience - AWS, GCP or Azure


⢠DevOps/MLOps experience: Jenkins/Bamboo


⢠CI/CD


⢠CT (Continuous Training)/CM (Continuous Monitoring)


⢠Git/Bitbucket




Professional proficiency in at least one data engineering technique/tool such as data collection, data ingestion, data transformation or Expertise with any cloud service, warehouse tool. Demonstrable experience in predictive modelling and clustering techniques in business environments. 


 


Communication skills are necessary for cooperating with other data engineers and with partners from other domains


 


Domain and Industry Knowledge: 


⢠2-5 Years industry experience. 


⢠Interest in growing knowledge in health insurance, experience in the area is a plus
