Job Title: Finance and Operations Associate


Overview:

We, a leading renewable energy company based in North Dublin are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Finance and Operations Associate with a strong accounting background to join our dynamic team. With a primary focus on generating clean, green energy through anaerobic digestion, wind power, demand-side response services, and solar energy, we are committed to sustainability and reducing greenhouse gas emissions. The Finance and Operations Associate will play a crucial role in managing various operational aspects of the company while contributing to its growth and success, with a particular emphasis on financial management and accounting functions.


Responsibilities:

1.       Invoicing and Financial Management:

·       Track weekly and monthly loads with gate fees attached, issuing invoices accordingly.

·       Manage invoicing for electricity, gas, and other production-related expenses.

·       Handle invoices payable, including gas, fuel, hauliers, feedstock, truck/machinery rental, waste plastic, and track recycled plastic for REPAK compliance.

·       Utilize accounting principles to ensure accuracy and compliance in financial transactions.


2.       Procurement and Inventory Management:

·       Issue purchase orders and manage orders for parts, equipment, sanitary, cleaning, and PPE.

·       Assist in tracking stock levels and ensuring adequate inventory for operational needs with attention to budgeting and financial planning.


3.       Data Reporting and Analysis:

·       Compile financial data and contribute to weekly/monthly KPI reports on energy usage, feedstock intake, gate fees, staffing costs, and digestate quantities dispatched.

·       Analyze financial performance and provide insights for decision-making processes.

·       Compilation and continual review of budgets


4.       Human Resources:

·       Manage employee holiday schedules, track hours, and oversee payroll processing, ensuring compliance with accounting standards.

·       Maintain records of employee training, warnings, and other HR-related matters with financial implications.


5.       Customer Relations:

·       Assist technical leads with overseeing feedstock acceptance agreements and load scheduling.

·       Support with facilitating ISCC audits and engaging with corporate clients.

·       Provide support in managing relationships with GNI/Energy customers and other stakeholders from a financial perspective.


6.       Transport Management and Compliance:

·       Assist in tax and insurance upkeep for company vehicles/trucks, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations.

·       Coordinate load scheduling, RSA/maintenance checks, and driver management with financial considerations in mind.


7.       Public Relations and Marketing:

·       Assist the team with regards to website maintenance, social media management, and organising site visits, aligning activities with budgetary constraints and financial goals.

·       Provide support with managing memberships and representing the company in external engagements where required.


Requirements:

·       Bachelorâs degree in business administration, Finance, Accounting, or related field preferred.

·       Previous experience in a similar operational/administrative role, preferably within the renewable energy or waste management sector, with a strong emphasis on accounting functions.

·       Proven experience in financial management, including invoicing, accounts payable/receivable, budgeting, and financial analysis.

·       Excellent organizational and multitasking skills with meticulous attention to detail, especially in financial record-keeping and reporting.

·       Proficiency in MS Office suite and experience with accounting software

·       Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities, with the capability to liaise effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders from a financial perspective.

·       Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities while maintaining a focus on financial objectives and compliance.

·       Maintain a c.90% on-site presence in North Dublin, overseeing financial aspects of operations.
