Our Story
Unum Technology Centre in Carlow serves as a strategic software development and IT services centre supporting Unum, a leading provider of income protection in the US. Our team of IT professionals build solutions and critical business applications to digitally transform the way we do business.

We are seeking a skilled Engineering Manager to lead an Agile team and drive the delivery of high-quality software solutions. The ideal candidate should have extensive experience in technical team leadership, people management or scrum team leadership with a strong passion for technology. This opportunity has extensive growth plans with scope to develop and scale a best-in-class digital transformation project.

The Role

  • Lead & manage a Delivery team of software engineers, testers & business analysts (working with technologies such as .Net, MuleSoft, Salesforce, Mainframe & internal legacy application)
  • Oversee the design, development, and implementation of software projects.
  • Ensure the timely delivery of high-quality software solutions.
  • Drive the team's adherence to Agile development methodologies.
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources.
  • Mentor and guide the development team, promoting a culture of excellence.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in software engineering
  • Partner with the product management & Design teams to align on business requirements.

What You Offer

  • 6+ years of experience in software engineering environment
  • 2+ years of experience leading and managing Agile software development projects.
  • Strong experience with Agile methodologies, including Scrum and Kanban
  • Excellent leadership, technical project management, and mentorship skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Experience leading MuleSoft (or similar) Integration teams a distinct advantage.
