Finance Accountant - 12 months Fix Term Contract

As a Financial Accountant, you will prepare and analyse accounts, deliver to various deadlines, assist with reporting packet submissions, and proactively engage with the wider finance team. You will have strong organisation, co-ordination, and communication skills to succeed in this role. What You’ll Do:

In your role, you’ll collaborate with different people across a range of departments, markets and skillsets. Here’s a flavour of your day-to-day:

  • Involvement in the preparation and analysis of periodic financial and management accounts.
  • Along with the Finance Manager, support the international finance teams by ensuring compliant accounting adhering to local GAAP and IFRS requirements in all countries in which we operate.
  • Review and challenge of periodic processes to identify opportunities to drive efficiencies through automation or revised processes.
  • Supporting on specific projects within Financial Reporting and the wider finance teams.
  • Assist in the submission of periodic reporting packs to ABF (Associated British Foods).
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with Business Partners (Financial Planning & Analysis / Primark and ABF Property Depts) to understand the broader business objectives, develop processes jointly and provide accounting guidance and best practice recommendations to enable process changes.
  • Key link with audit teams and other advisors ensuring timely and accurate completion of all statutory obligations for several legal entities.
  • Involvement in technical financial accounting advice, researching the impact of accounting policy decisions on the business and advising of relevant changes.

What You’ll Bring

  • Accounting qualification (ACCA, ACA, CPA or equivalent) with minimum 2-3 years PQE.
  • Big 4 background or a number of years of industry experience preferred.
  • Experience working in Financial Reporting would be an advantage.
  • Exceptional planning and organisation skills, ability to multi-task, plan and prioritise work schedule and work within agreed timescales.
  • MS Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Strong Excel skills are required.
  • Oracle Financials, Excel4apps and Cognos would be an advantage.
