Senior QS

An excellent opportunity for a Senior QS / Project Manager to join a large Hospitality Group expanding its portfolio. As a Quantity Surveyor and Project Manager you will act as a project financial guardian and be responsible for managing the cost of construction projects within the Group.

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

Overseeing and Assessing new acquisition and development opportunities.

*

Calculating costs and timelines, monitoring construction progress and dealing with bank drawdowns.

*

Ensure the company projects progress efficiently and safely by assisting in the Cost Value Reconciliation (CVR) process

*

Preparing Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).

*

You will be central to the decision-making process throughout the development of a project from initial inception to final completion.

*

Work closely with the Directors and Senior Development Manager in determining their needs and discuss any areas that need revising for price or feasibility.

*

Play an essential role in life cycle costing, cost planning, procurement and tendering, contract administration and commercial management.

*

Prepare tender and contract documents.

*

Calculating material quantities and costs, labour costs and an achievable project timeframe

*

Negotiating labour contracts and schedules

*

Advising the team on legal matters and disputes

*

Monitoring subcontractors, safety practices, construction progress and material needs, including any changes which impact costs.

*

Preparing labour and supplier accounts for payment

*

Writing reports detailing costs and progress

*

Ensure each project meets legal and quality standards.

*

Consistently liaising with a range of other teams working on the project helping it to stay on track

Working Hours:

• Any 5 days out of 7 including weekends & public holidays.

IDEAL CANDIDATE

*

Degree/Qualification in one of the following: QS/ Construction Economics Degree or Construction/Project Management Degree and/or Chartered Quantity Surveyor (MRICS or SCS)

*

Minimum of 5 - 10 years relevant experience.

*

Experience in project management and/or quantity surveying in hotel projects.

*

Ability to produce and manage bills of quantities, tender and contract documentation is essential.

*

Experience of Final Account negotiations and settlements is a plus Bonus, Pension
