PORTWEST , a leading global manufacturer of safety wear, workwear and PPE is currently seeking applications for the position of a Senior Front-End Developer. We design, manufacture and distribute market leading workwear, safety wear and PPE in fully owned production facilities. 

YOUR NEW ROLE

We are currently in search of a Senior Frontend Developer who possesses a wealth of experience operating within an Agile environment, specializing in the development of intricate Inertia & Vue.js front-ends on a Laravel-based micro-service architecture.

The Senior Frontend Developer is crucial in ensuring the functionality and user experience of our products and platforms is high-speed, user-friendly, and scalable. Collaboration is a key aspect of their role, as they closely work with various internal teams, including marketing, commercial, quality assurance, and customer success, to address and enhance software functionality. They act as a superhero, contributing to all aspects of frontend development, and are adept at crafting clean and efficient code that ensures the overall system's optimal performance. Please note - the successful candidate will be required on site at our HQ in Westport, Mayo on occasion.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Write good, efficient code that's been tested and documented well.
  • Make sure our code is top-notch by creating tests and making sure everything works together.
  • Use modern techniques and tools to add new features to our product.
  • Help keep our code in shape by giving it a good review, making sure it follows the right style and practices, and is built to scale.
  • Work with a super team of engineers to plan and create new technical stuff.
  • Work with our supply chain, marketing, and product teams to make new features and make them even better.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • You've been a software engineer for 10 or more years, and you know your way around Inertia and VueJS along with a knowledge of PHP and Laravel. (Livewire, Nginx, AWS, Redis, MySQL would be a bonus).
  • You're really good at the latest Vue and Inertian (version 3 and up), Unit and functional testing, and intergating APIs effectively.
  • You can handle a project from start to finish - from the planning and research to the final product.
  • You're great at talking and writing and working in a team.
  • You know your way around big bits of code and how to set them up to grow.
  • You've used CI/CD, Git, and Agile ways of working.
  • You know how to use tools to make our product go even faster.
  • You can turn ideas and designs into things that work and can be used again and again.
  • You like code that's typed properly.
  • You're good at looking at details and keeping things tidy.
  • You have a degree in Computer Science, Math, Engineering (or something like that), or lots of experience in the industry.
