What you will do:

  • An apprenticeship with us will see you building new skills, while applying your knowledge to real-world live projects. We are offering a full-time Level 6 Electronic Security Systems Apprenticeship ran by SOLAS.
  • This apprenticeship is a 4 year program consisting of 7 phases. 4 on-the-job and 3 off-the-job in a training facility.
  • Fire and Security Systems Engineers, install, commission and maintain electronic systems in and outside simple and buildings to protect individuals, homes and properties from risk and danger.
  • Systems include fire, security and emergency systems to detect intrusion, provide surveillance, monitor and control access to buildings, properties and sites or to detect fire and emergencies.
  • The apprenticeship will combine on-the-job work experience, with time at college to achieve a level 6 apprenticeship. You will attend our dedicated training centre for 3 seperate phases of 10-20 weeks in duration, while having the ongoing support of our training team. Skills you will gain:

  • This apprenticeship will provide a foundation from which to progress on several career paths within the Company as a Fire & Security Systems Installation Engineer.
  • During this apprenticeship you will learn the skills required for installing, maintaining and repairing state-of-the-art fire and security systems. 
  • Skills include interconnection of equipment, programming, verifying performance/fault finding and testing and maintaining equipment.
  • You will be trained in the installation and testing techniques for electrical and electronic components, equipment and control systems for fire and security systems.
  • Engineers’ will carry out planned jobs to install new systems, modify and maintain existing systems as well as respond to call-outs to repair faulty systems where they will utilize their problem solving skills.
  • This is a very exciting, challenging and rewarding role that will provide a start point for a lifelong career within a highly innovative and technical business environment.

Requirements for the role:

  • The minimum educational requirements are grade D in five subjects in the Junior Certificate Examination or an approved equivalent or the successful completion of an approved Pre-Apprenticeship course.
  • A full drivers licence is a requirement for this position.
  • Willingness to travel as this is a field-based position, primarily in Dublin & surrounding areas.
  • Travel expenses will be covered by the company.
  • Candidates are also required to pass a colour vision test approved by Solas.
