A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Buyer/Planner Specialist.

The role will manage the effective and efficient running of all planning operations in the IPT by utilizing ERP planning tools, working closely with key cross functional stakeholders (IPT/Quality/Global Procurement).

The role will also be responsible for longer term forecast analysis and review to identify and mitigate possible capacity / material issues through utilization of rough cut capacity planning. Maintaining a continuous improvement methodology with our partners.

  • The role is accountable for the effective and efficient running of the MRP (Materials Requirements Planning) & APO SAP Maintenance.
  • This role requires the management of a stable process supported by a flexible, collaborate, multi-skilled teamwork environment.
  • The Planner/Buyer will be an active member within a cross functional Team providing support, guidance and expertise to ensure World Class Supply of our products
  • The Planner/Buyer will be accountable for the availability of raw materials, components etc to meet production needs. They will work with project leads, IPT Planners to ensure all activities consuming inventory is tracked on the MRP system.
  • The Planner/buyer will be accountable for the efficient utilization of IPT capacity to meet Customer needs.
  • They will work with project leads, IPT personnel to ensure all activities are planned via weekly capacity meeting is tracked on the SAP system.  They will link with Master Scheduler and a escalate and Project, Capacity & Supply constraints and develop solutions for endorsement in a timely manner.
  • The Planner/Buyer will complete IQV analysis on their materials, working in conjunction with IPTs, Master Scheduler and Finance. IQV analysis will be completed in a timely manner and in compliance with SOx requirements.
  • Develop IPT capacity plans for the Annual Budget Planning process.  Ensure continual alignment to plan and delivery of targets.  Deviations to plan must be analyzed from Customer, resource, activity and cost perspective.
  • Inventory Months of Supply (MOS), cycle time reduction, delivery performance, schedule adherence and D&O tracking and reporting (Plan vs. Actual)..
  • Be a driver in new product introduction activities, shutdown planning and D&O management, tracking key milestones to enable successful execution of planned initiatives.
  • Recognize and implement continuous improvement activities to increase flexibility, eliminate waste, reduce cycle times, inventory and cost while maintaining product supply to internal and external customers.
  • Aligning inventory with Plant objectives and targets to ensure Inventory is optimized.
  • Sound financial stewardship, management and control.

What skills you will need:

  • At least five years experience in the Pharmaceutical industry or a similar operating environment with experience in a buyer/planner role in an operations environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership and change management skills with a continuous improvement focus.
  • Degree or 3rd level qualification (Supply Chain, Finance, Procurement).
  • Aligning inventory with Plant objectives and targets to ensure Inventory is optimized.
  • Demonstrated successes in a team environment, such as project teams, Six Sigma team, PITs etc.
  • Stakeholder management of multi decision makers, colleagues, peers and cross functional teams.
