Software Engineer

We are looking for someone with a strong Oracle PL/SQL development background that is equally versed in defining requirements. The successful candidate will be responsible for liaising with a multi-disciplined team, consisting of Business Subject Matter Experts, Business Analysts, Solution Architects, DBAs and Testers, with the goal of refining requirements and assisting with the design of business and technology solutions.
In this Role, you will- Review and refine high level requirements on a regular basis.
- Translate the business requirements provided by the business in to system focused user stories, transcribing into Jira
- Provide high level estimates of development tasks.
- Perform source to target analysis of legacy code.
- Develop, unit test and support the testing of systems based on high level requirements.
- Create technical documentation of the solution.
We are looking for candidates with excellent hands-on Oracle, SQL and PL/SQL experience. You are a leader with enthusiasm and a growth mentality who prioritises collaboration with others. You are proactive to achieve the necessary outcome while improving processes, people and tooling along the way
Experience with any of the following will help you to stand out but is not necessary in order to apply for this role:
- Developing data solutions in a multi-disciplined team/ Agile development environment/Waterfall Environment
- Working in a tightly regulated development environment
- Oracle, SQL, PL/SQL, Oracle APEX, Oracle Forms, Oracle Reports and/or Oracle Discoverer
- Writing SQL queries for both OLTP and ETL environments
- Proficiency in Unix Shell scripting
- Developing process schedules using Control-M or a similar scheduling tool
- Confluence and Jira
- Experience of integration technologies such as IBM Websphere MQ, Oracle Golden Gate Oracle Streams and Mulesoft.
- Proficiency in scripting languages Python, Perl, and so forth.
- Experience of implementations or integration with cloud environments e.g. AWS and/or Azure

The Corporate & Markets Engineering and Delivery factory operates a 'one team' culture delivering across Design, Engineering and Test. We operate across a diverse range of technology and business domains collaborating with other engineering functions, Enterprise Architecture and business partners.
This is a hybrid role and can be done anywhere in the Republic of Ireland with the primary office location as Dublin. Travel will be required for in-person collaboration - exact frequency to be agreed with manager.
