As the growth of Mercerâs Delegated Solutions business accelerates, an exciting opportunity has emerged to join a team of fund management experts, responsible for all aspects of the scoping and design of funds to meet the growing and diverse needs of Mercerâs clients internationally. The Product team forms part of the overall COO team which is responsible for all aspects of the funds utilised as part of Mercerâs Investment Solutions including construction, maintenance, oversight and reporting.

Reporting to the Head of Product, the successful candidate will manage the design and scoping phase of the product development lifecycle and will be responsible for product governance processes and the ongoing optimal management of the funds. This is a highly visible role requiring collaboration with a broad set of stakeholders internally and externally, including investment and commercial teams, Legal, Compliance, Portfolio Intelligence and operational teams.

We will rely on you to:

  • Manage the design and development of new funds, ensuring product initiatives follow the appropriate product governance processes and associated approvals are obtained.
  • Collaborate with investment and distribution teams to define the investment strategy, fund requirements and features (e.g. securities lending, collateral models, distribution models, share class features, fee structures)
  • Manage changes to existing funds, ensuring existing products remain current, appropriate and compliant for clients.
  • Provide technical expertise and advise the business regarding fund structures and processes.
  • Owner of all Fund Documentation including M&A, Prospectus, Supplement wording, KIDs/KIIDs, RMP, Fund Profiles, Sub-IM IMAâs, etc.
  • Optimal management of funds on an ongoing basis.
  • Drafting and presentation of fund initiatives papers to internal governance forums or Fund boards as required.
  • Monitoring regulatory impacts on funds and determining appropriate actions.
  • Investment Guidelines setting with Sub-IMs & post trade compliance monitoring at fund level.
  • Provide 1st line risk and control for Fund Management activities.
  • Liaise with legal counsel and other stakeholders on fund matters.
  • Develop and maintain market and segment expertise to assist decision making and execution.

What you will need to have:

  • Strong demonstrable experience within a Product Development/Product Management function of an Asset Management firm.
  • Relevant practical experience and knowledge of markets, investment processes and strategies.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of European fund structures, specifically UCITS and AIFs
  • Understanding of current regulatory changes and issues impacting the industry.
  • Attention to detail with the ability to prioritise and navigate multiple teams and deliverables.
  • Collaborative track record, project management and communication skills.
  • Energy, tenacity and resilience.
  • Strong academic track record.
