G4S Secure Solutions Ireland are seeking an experienced IT Engineer - Telecommunications & Radio to join our team in Ballymount Dublin. This role offers a very competitive salary & a Hybrid working environment.

Job Outline: To deliver ICT operations and service excellence during a mobilisation by establishing good and effective working relationships with users and stakeholders at all levels, ensuring business and technology teams are supported and focused on delivering excellent customer service.

 

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

  • Support and maintain hardware, software and fault logs, interfacing with Network infrastructure teams.
  • Work with the IT Service Desk, acting as 2nd line support, diagnosing breakdowns /faults and take corrective and remedial action.
  • Sustain ICT Services, owning issues to resolution and ensuring a clear hand-off to another issue owner.
  • Advise, agree and implement the distribution, use and best practice of software, and interfacing available hardware to optimise end user efficiency and promote ARC connectivity,and staff mobile and PABX usage.
  • Guide and coach end users to optimise desktop,software and mobile phone usage.
  • Check end users compliance with IT policies, with particular reference to the security policy.
  • Ensure full asset management, incident logging and updates, service request capture and other ITIL related activities for allocated sites including radio repeaters.
  • Ensure compliance of all statutory requirements about ICT, including Comreg licencing, conformity with EN.50131 and EN50136 standards.
  • Maintain the sim and mobile phone databases.
  • Assist with ad hoc project work and duties as and when required.
  • Any other reasonable request by Management.

Skills and Knowledge:

 

Essential:

  • Experience of delivering IT support to a range of staff and ARC customers at all levels.
  • Working knowledge of Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office & Google support.
  • Proficient with all device hardware repair and troubleshooting/resolving software and operating system issues.
  • Full clean driving licence.

Desirable

  • Manual Handling.
  • Geographic knowledge of Ireland.
  • Experience with radio networks (highly advantageous)
  • Knowledge of radio propagation principle (highly advantageous)
