Business Intelligence Senior Analyst (Maternity Leave Cover)

  

Job Description

   

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Business Intelligence Analyst with at least 3 years of expertise in Power BI. This position is a temporary contract to backfill a resource who will be on maternity leave for 9 months, with an opportunity to join SUSE long-term.

As a Business Intelligence Senior Analyst, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining our business intelligence solutions using Power BI. Your work will contribute to providing valuable business insights and data analytics to support decision-making across the organization.

The role sits within the IT Data Analytics & Data Governance Team, reporting into the Head of Analytics and Reporting who is Dublin based. The position can be either hybrid or remote with a start date in October.

Focus Areasâ¯Â 

  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including business analysts, managers, and executives, to understand their reporting needs and analytical requirements and translate them into actionable reports.

  • Design, develop, and implement business intelligence solutions using Power BI.

  • Create visually appealing reports, dashboards, and interactive visualizations to present complex data in a clear and intuitive manner.

  • Development of efficient data governance to ensure accuracy, integrity, and efficiency

  • Optimize data models and queries to enhance performance and scalability of Power BI solutions.

  • Maintain and enhance existing Power BI solutions based on user feedback and evolving business needs.

  • Conduct data analysis to identify trends and patterns to draw insights that drive actionable business decisions.

  • Develop a deep understanding of the end-to-end data journey, from source to target

  • Mapping out data flows, ensure data integrity and quality throughout the process, and effectively manage the movement and transformation of data from its origin to its final destination.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data quality across all reports.

  • Provide technical support and guidance to end-users, addressing data-related concerns and troubleshooting issues.

  • Use technical writing skills to effectively communicate knowledge and perform requirement analysis in collaboration with cross-functional teams.

  • Improve our user enablement strategy in line with the SUSEâs data strategy.

  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends and advancements in business intelligence and data visualization.

Desired Experience & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.

  • 3+ years as a Business Intelligence Senior Analyst with a strong focus on Power BI.

  • Expertise in designing and developing BI solutions, including data modeling, reports, and dashboards using Power BI.

  • Proficient in Power Query and DAX

  • Ability to write complex SQL queries to extract and manipulate data.

  • Strong understanding of relational databases, data integration, and ETL processes.

  • Experience with various data sources like SQL databases, Google platform, Excel, CSV, and APIs.

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

  • Nice to have: experience with other BI tools (e.g., Tableau), Agile/JIRA and AWS applications
