Deputy Supervisor

CLS is currently going through an unprecedented and exciting period of growth and development and is now looking for an Deputy Supervisor to join our team in Rosmuc. This is an exciting opportunity to join CLS as a full-time employee.

Founded in 1994, Complete Laboratory Solutions (CLS) is the highest accredited contract laboratory in Ireland, providing industry-leading sampling, analysis and fully trained micro and analytical analysts on contract to clients in the food, environmental, medical device, biopharmaceutical and pharmaceutical sectors.

We offer bespoke managed service solutions that give clients the option of having our expert team on-site at their own facility or outsourcing those services to us here at CLS.

This role will primarily be in the Environmental Laboratory Rosmuc. As a member of the Rosmuc Environmental Lab team, this role will be responsible for managing the people and the workloads in the absence of the supervisor to ensure work is carried out to the correct standards and is completed in a timely manner.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Assisting the Supervisor to ensure the environmental laboratory, both inorganic and organic activities, are run in a controlled and productive manner.

• Scheduling and distribution of samples and work loads

• Supporting Supervisor in managing turnaround times of results and deadlines including the prompt entry of results and timely checking off process.

• Supporting Supervisor in analyst and team development including training and supervision of the trainee’s laboratory work

• Manage the holiday tracker in the absence of the Supervisor

• Ensuring integrity of results reported by the lab and compliance with ISO17025 requirements

• Liaising closely with the Quality Control Department on any QC related issues

• Support KPI measurements

• Maximising all resources in your area and where appropriate implement changes that will enhance the operation and efficiency of the operation

• Encourage good communication among all sections of the Chemistry Dept. as well as supporting inter- departmental communication

• Supporting Supervisor in motivate staff to achieve targets and optimise the use of resources at all times.

• Supporting Supervisor in motivate team to promote team spirit, increased efficiency and full engagement

• Flagging any down times or issues and communicating with your manager and the environmental administration office, to facilitate client notification where applicable.

• Oversee purchasing and collaborate with Finance department on Vendor assessment

• All other related duties as requested by manager

• Compliance with ISO 17025, ISO 9001, INAB requirements and CLS internal quality and technical procedures.

Qualifications

• A minimum Bachelor’s degree in laboratory science.

• Previous supervisory experience is an advantage

• Knowledge of laboratory procedures and safety regulations.

• Ability to work independently and efficiently.

• Proficiency with lab equipment and computer software.
