Are you a Respiratory Physiologist seeking a new start in a busy acute unit with a mangeable caseload? Medforce, a proud provider of recruitment services to the HSE, are seeking a Respiratory Physiologist on behalf of our client based in Kilkenny. The successful candidate will be expected to perform pulmonary function studies and sleep studies and to support the Respiratory teams and other teams with accurate test data in a professional manner, performing tests using a variety of skills, techniques and equipment. Duties include but are not limited to: Performing lung function and sleep study tests, interpretation of tests, preliminary reporting and alerting medical staff to any serious anomalies. Supervision of student/trainee respiratory physiologists, as well as the provision of specialist education to other health care workers. Be professionally responsible for all aspects of the post holders own work, under the supervision of Chief II Respiratory Physiologist. To maintain accurate clinical records as required. To keep abreast in understanding and knowledge of all new developments. Excellent communicaton skills, the ability to work as part of a team. Be adaptable and flexible in all areas of their work. Assisting in maintaining departmental procedures and protocols including infection control and general lab hygiene. Essential Criteria: Possess the BSc in Clinical Measurement from Technology University Dublin or Dublin Institute of Technology. Or Possess an equivalent relevant scientific qualification (Level 8) as confirmed by the Irish Institute of Clinical Measurements Physiology (IICMP). Or if qualified in or prior to 2005 (a) Possess the Certificate in Medical Physics and Physiological Measurement (MPPM) from Dublin Institute of Technology Or (b) Possess an equivalent relevant scientific qualification as confirmed by the Irish Institute of Clinical Measurement Physiology (IICMP). Desirable: Post graduate education in courses relevant to post.
