The Position

We have an exciting opportunity for a Electrical Technical Lead to get involved in the early stages of building our team in Ireland and help further strengthen our technical capabilities in Europe whilst working on landmark projects.

You will be joining the Electrical team, acting as a Technical Lead and Manager. The role will predominantly be focused on overseeing the delivery of multiple sectors including Data Centres, Commercial Office, Hotel & Residential, Retail and Laboratory projects.

  • Design and review of electrical system designs for a range of projects
  • Act as a sounding board for electrical engineers in the office, offering design direction and guidance
  • Peer review of designs and specifications of electrical systems
  • Play an active role in developing the electrical team technical capability
  • Be expected to lead projects and represent NDY externally in project and technical meetings
  • Prepare and deliver presentations to clients and contacts on new and emerging technologies and their application
  • Ensure that NDY’s quality system is implemented and maintained on all projects
  • Support with business development and identifying opportunities for new work, including assistance with project bid and interview phases
Attributes

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • A recognised electrical engineering qualification
  • Well-developed understanding of relevant Standards
  • Well-developed understanding of Project Stages and Delivery methods (e.g. full design, design and construct)
  • Have at least 7 – 10 years’ experience in the field of Electrical Building Services
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with staff at all levels across multiple disciplines, as well as familiarity with external client interactions
  • Great interpersonal skills, a team player and a genuine interest in helping others (including development of junior staff)
  • Strong business acumen, with the ability to make informed decisions
  • Well-developed problem solving skills, and a “think outside the box” mentality
  • Familiarity with the full range of design stages, from concept right through to detailed design and construction administration
  • A general understanding of other engineering disciplines including mechanical, public health and fire protection is highly desirable
  • Data Centre experience would be advantageous but not essential
  • Arc Flash experience would be advantageous but not essential.
