Job Summary:

To position itself to meet the requirements of continuing rapid business growth and future market development, West Pharmaceutical Services have developed a transformation strategy of standardization, simplification and centralization of global accounting operations. In accordance with that strategy, we are establishing a Global Financial Centre of Excellence in Dublin, Ireland.

Reporting to, and working closely with, the Global Fixed Assets Manager, in this role you will be responsible for regional support in this area within the Global Fixed Asset Team under GFS.

You will play a pivotal role in West’s capital expenditure process, being accountable for the performance and output of various plants within the global team.

You will develop an understanding of our strategic business direction and play a key role in the future development of the global function, including updating related policies, procedures and business plans in order to meet the needs of a growing and changing business.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Process
  • Supporting the Global Fixed Asset Manager in all aspects of the function
  • Accounting for CIP balances through interaction with senior project managers
  • Executing various close activities through period-end closings within company deadlines while remaining compliant to West, SOX, GAAP policies and regulations
• • Collaborating with a broad range of stakeholders including local market FP&A, Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, Senior management, and internal/external auditors.
  • Actively oversee the review and management of the AUC/CIP balances to ensure accurate and SOX compliant reporting and accounting.
  • Ensuring the month-end account reconciliation process is completed in a timely and accurate fashion with adequate supporting documentation.
  • Drive global process improvements to standardize & harmonize processes and achieve superior levels of efficiency realizing reduced cost benefits to West.
  • Lead in the delivery of internal and external reporting of Fixed Asset balances
  • Represent the GFS organization on various projects and systems initiatives liaising closely with the Consolidations team, Technical Accounting and Group reporting to ensure overall consistency of process.
  • Ensure the SOX RCM is accurate and reflects all Fixed Asset processes
  • Provide market guidance on issues surrounding Fixed Assets policy and processes
  • Supporting the Statutory reporting process through testing and insight into all asset related balances on the global balance sheet

• Control environment:
  • Ensure that company financial records are maintained in compliance with company policies and US GAAP and SEC reporting requirements
  • Accountable for ensuring that company policies and procedures (internal controls) are implemented to provide reasonable assurance that the company assets are protected
  • Support the Sarbanes Oxley activities relative to internal controls documentation and testing and segregation of duties
  • Liaise with internal and external auditors
• Technology and service:
  • Report agreed key performance indicators
  • Support deployment of SAP S/4 HANA and other systems e.g. Blackline to garner greater efficiency within the Record to Report function
  • Support implementation of Artificial Intelligence and /or RPA to drive further efficiency and effectiveness in our delivery of accounting services
• Acquisitions: Support integration into financial operations
• Other duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree or equivalent in Finance or Accounting

• Minimum 3+ years of PQE experience with a minimum of 3 years of management experience is preferable but not essential

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Qualified accountant i.e. ACA, ACCA, CIMA or CPA
• Public Accounting background
• Previous Shared Service Centre with multinational publicly quoted company experience
• Working knowledge of US GAAP
• Proficient in SAP or similar ERP
• Proficient in MS Office applications
• Experience of BI tools an advantage
• Demonstrated ability to form, lead and develop high-performing teams
• Excellent communication and leadership skills i.e. ability to communicate and work effectively with a wide range of region, division and corporate functions
• Able to manage multiple priorities effectively, while managing ambiguity and adapting to changing business needs and priorities
• Project management, meeting facilitation, written/oral communication and presentation skills
• Able to be aware of all relevant SOPs as per Company policy as they are related to the position covered by this Job Description
• Able to comply with the company’s safety policy at all times
• Able to comply with the company’s quality policy at all times

Travel Requirements:

• May be required to travel during the implementation phase (up to 10% of the time in year one)
