PART-TIME AFTER-SCHOOL EDUCATOR VACANCY

We are looking for an enthusiastic after-school educator with a positive attitude to work with children, families, and colleagues in our after-school service (SAC) in Watergrasshill Community Hall. This position is a temporary one-year position to cover a member of staff on maternity leave. The work would start in September 2024.

Duties:

  • Support the deputy manager and manager in ensuring compliance with all relevant Early Years regulations and agencies.
  • Working in partnership with the parents.
  • Planning and implementing activities that the children in SAC will enjoy.
  • Working daily in the service directly with the children.
  • In collaboration with colleagues, ensure that equipment and the facility are clean, well-maintained, and safe at all times.

Requirements:

  • Must have experience working with children/youth (childminding/early years/youth work).
  • Minimum of one year’s experience working with children and families.
  • Excellent work ethic and commitment.
  • Excellent communication skills.

Job specification:

  • Hours of work: 1.30 pm to 5.15 pm (17 hours and 45 minutes per week). Any work done beyond the normal working hours is paid accordingly (e.g. staff meetings).
  • Service is open from Mondays to Fridays.
  • Induction day is provided.
  • Salary will follow the current ERO legislation.
  • Support and advice are offered by the manager.
  • 38-week work contract.
