The Role
The Maintenance Engineering Supervisor is responsible for directing and coordinating all maintenance activities in support of production in a safe, cost-effective and environmentally sound manner, assuring capacity and achieving plant performance metrics.
Duties
â¢Â  Supervision of employees, allocating work, co-ordinate training and dealing with issues as arise up to counselling stage of disciplinary process.Â
â¢Â  Ensure Attendance Management policy is adhered to.Â
â¢Â  Recruitment & Selection of all technicians for assigned department (s). â¢Â  Performance Management â prepare, assess and conduct all 121s & appraisals including end year review, contract staff appraisals, etc.Â
â¢Â  CORE Time & Attendance: â sign off T&A on a weekly basis in a correct and accurate manner.
â¢Â  Responsible for assigning and coordinating tasks of technician tasks to meet weekly plan.Â
â¢Â  Organize overtime within dept. budget. Co-ordination of overtime to meet weekly plan, while adhering to fixed budget.Â
â¢Â  Develop the competencies and skills of technical and engineering staff to improve performance of plant equipment
â¢Â  Providing a safe and injury free workplace for all employees;Â
â¢Â  Ensures compliance with all applicable Environmental, Health and Safety legislation & adherence to Safety procedures & requirements.Â
â¢Â  Partner with the Quality department to ensure compliance with Quality Standards. â¢Â  Foster culture of right first time (RFT) ensuring product qualityÂ
â¢Â  Ensures documentation is maintained in accordance with quality requirements & completes necessary updates as appropriate.
â¢Â  Provide on-going assessment of equipment issues and reliability (based on gathered data and statistical analysis) and apply effective methods of preventative and corrective maintenance to ensure resource deployment is effective and efficient.
â¢Â  Follow the appropriate SAP Next procedures.
â¢Â  Maximise the use of condition monitoring and predictive measures to ensure resource and cost effectiveness.
â¢Â  Use defined maintenance data generated allied to equipment and business understanding of site needs and impact (e.g. knock-on effects of poor equipment reliability) to justify capital expenditure.
â¢Â  Plan, organise, direct and control maintenance project activities to meet defined site objectives and to provide technical support to the maintenance group by taking the lead on issues.
â¢Â  Develop scientific risk-based approach to identifying key critical spares for plant and equipment and ensure that critical spares are in stock or are always readily available. Ensure that an effective program is then maintained.
â¢Â  Present technical data and lead tours of internal and external audit groups and customer visits
â¢Â  Manage on site contractors under area of responsibility including the preparation of all required work permits and the review of risk assessments and method statement for the required tasks or work.
â¢Â  Provide out of hours escalation telephone support to the maintenance technicians and operations \ controls group when and if required.

Who You Are
â¢Â  Engineering Degree ideally in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or recognised equivalent.
â¢Â  Minimum 8+ yearsâ experience in an engineering \ maintenance leadership role, preferably within the Medical Device and \ or Pharmaceutical Industry.
â¢Â  Trades Qualified an advantage.
â¢Â  Demonstrated high performance history, proven ability to execute and get results
â¢Â  Excellent leadership, facilitation, and communication skills
â¢Â  Strong project management experience â¢Â  Ability to influence within a matrix organisation with direct and indirect authority.
â¢Â  High level of energy and enthusiasm and the ability to energize others
â¢Â  Ability to work with employees at all levels of the organisation.
â¢Â  Experience with planning and executing change within a high work paced environment.
â¢Â  Keen ability to teach and coach.
â¢Â  Preferable experience with SAP Next / PM system.
â¢Â  Preferable experience with a Calibration System.
â¢Â  Previous experience within an ATEX environment an advantage.
â¢Â  Be familiar with planned preventative and proactive maintenance approaches.
â¢Â  Excellent awareness and experience in relation to Quality and Environmental Health and Safety
â¢Â  Analytical with experience in Lean six sigma methodologies
â¢Â  Familiar with GMP requirements within a regulated industry.
â¢Â  Effective verbal, written & interpersonal communication skills. â¢Â  The ability to work effectively within a team environment.
â¢Â  Lead a high performing technical group.
â¢Â  Self-motivated.
â¢Â  Keen to learn & take responsibility.
â¢Â  Strong organisational, time management and planning ability.
â¢Â  Computer Literate Excel, Word, Powerpoint etc.
