Continuous Improvement Technician

Responsibilities

  • This involves but is not limited to:
  • Supporting Lean implementation within the organisation
  • Support Lean systems activities, Kaizen events and visual management
  • Implement and maintain MDI boards for all cells
  • Execute monthly 5S audits on all assigned cells in a timely manner
  • Complete accurate time observation sheets as required
  • Conduct line balancing exercises
  • Coach other staff in Lean systems methodologies, teach them to see waste and facilitate structured problem solving (Problem statement, Ishikawa, 5 whys etc.)
  • Highlight opportunities for improvement within the clean rooms using the TIMWOOD categories
  • Ensure GROWTTH methodologies are adhered to and that GROWTTH and Lean Business becomes ingrained in the company culture.
  • Ensure that all changes are implemented in compliance with the QMS, (ISO13485 / FDA) and the OH&S, Environmental and Energy Management Systems (ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and ISO 50001) and other regulatory requirements relevant to the Company.
  • Ensure that health and safety requirements are considered before implementing change so that potential hazards or risks are identified and mitigated.

Qualifications
  • Qualifications in Lean Systems, preferably Green Belt. If not, extensive experience in implementing waste reduction programs/projects using TQM / JIT or similar programmes. Lean Systems Green Belt must be achieved within 9 months of start.
  • Knowledge and experience of continuous improvement methodology (Kaizen, 3P, 5S, SMED, MDI etc)
  • Experience in Visual Management, 5S and MDI is desirable.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of IT business systems including Business systems (preferably IQMS), Quality systems and other computer based systems.
  • Excellent communication, training and problem solving skills with high levels of personal drive and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, strong technical acumen.
