Job Description:

Here at DNV, what we do matters. Whether it's helping the Energy Industry transition to a more decarbonised and sustainable future or helping protect life, property and the environment, every day, what you do will make a difference. This is our shared purpose and one our people are proud to be part of.

Our highly respected Renewables department in the UK and Ireland provides consulting engineers, data insights, deep technology expertise, modelling and software solutions. We do this to enable the successful rollout of renewable power and to deliver the energy transition. We are engaged in all phases, from initial concept evaluation through construction and commissioning into operations, life extension and decommissioning. The main customers are turbine manufacturers, wind farm developers, owners and operators, as well as investors.

Within Renewables, our Wind Projects section comprises 40 engineers who deal with everything in the wind farm's lifespan from the development of the project through its operation to decommissioning, taking in analysis of energy production as well as technical assurance to financial transactions. The Project Operation team within our section is focused on the range of consultancy services relating to the operational phase of a wind farm's life or for owners and operators, both onshore and offshore. These may include the following areas but should be expected to be expanded over time: Operations and maintenance, Installation, Decommissioning, Inspection, Repowering, Life Extension, Upgrades, Cyber security, SCADA.

We are looking to recruit a Team Lead to manage the newly formed Project Operation team within the Wind Projects Section. The individual should have a good understanding of the market and be able to actively engage with customers and business development activities to support both sales and the delivery of a strong team performance. The successful candidate will have a key role in implementing an effective on-the-job training and upskilling plan to meet market demands, whilst offering opportunities for individuals to develop and widen their skills.

Reporting directly to the Head of Section, the main responsibility of the Team Lead will be to provide leadership to their team to ensure market relevance. This will involve coaching, developing, retaining and recruiting staff, and ensuring an exceptional employee experience. The Team Lead will aim to maintain staff's motivation and engagement levels and utilize the team optimally to meet Section's operational targets and objectives. This will be achieved, in part, by ensuring the team has the right capabilities and are striving for a high performing collaborative culture. The Team Lead will ensure that business development and execution of projects are appropriately resourced with the right individuals, completed within the required timelines and budgets and to the required quality standards to meet customer requirements.

Team Leads are expected to contribute to commercial work as technical experts in their discipline with management / administration taking up to 35% of their time and the rest split between commercial work and business development activities as appropriate considering the needs of their team.

We value all our people and the contributions they make to our business, so it's important that our rewards make us all feel valued here. That's why we offer a flexible reward and benefits package, allowing you to choose the things that matter most to you, including;

  • Exceptional Development and career progression opportunities with regular development discussions with your manager
  • Non-contractual Profit Share Scheme
  • Lifestyle benefits: 26 days annual leave + bank holidays, opportunity for up to 10 days unpaid leave, sabbatical leave, flexible working options
  • Wellbeing benefits: (including Private Medical, Dental Insurance, Health Assessments, Gym allowance). Company contribution towards eye tests and glasses (for computer/laptop users), and Flu Vaccinations. Our Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) provides free and confidential support for issues including work, family, relationships, money and health and we provide free fruit in our offices
  • Financial Benefits: including a Pension Scheme with employer pension contributions up to 9%, Life Assurance and Income Protection
  • Travel benefits: Season Ticket Loan, Cycle to Work Scheme, Electric Vehicle Salary Sacrifice Scheme (for personal use)
  • Re-imbursement of relevant Professional Membership Fees (up to £570)
  • Access to employee retail discount site for high street and online shopping
