Are you a Pipefitter looking for a change in your career?

Rockwell are currently recruiting an experienced Pipefitter to join an exciting mechanical engineering project in the Newbridge region, on a full-time basis.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Reading and interpreting drawings to select type and size of pipe and related materials and equipment, such as supports, hangers, and hydraulic cylinders, according to job specifications.
  • Observes and complies with all safety and project rules and all company policies and procedures & inspects worksite to determine presence of obstructions.
  • Plans sequence on installation to avoid obstructions and activities of other workers.
  • Proficient in all pipefitting tasks including:
  • Measuring and cutting pipe using hacksaw, pipe cutter, hammer and chisel, cutting torch, and pipe cutting machine to accurate dimensions.
  • Bending pipe by hand or with pipe-bending tools and machine.
  • Mounting pipe hangers and brackets on walls and ceilings to secure pipe.
  • Assembly and installation of a variety of metal or nonmetal pipes and pipe fittings, using threaded caulked, soldering, brazing, fused, or cemented joints, and hand tools.
  • Securing pipes to structure with brackets, clamps, and hangers, using hand and power tools.
  • Testing piping systems for leaks by increasing pressure in pipes and observing gauges attached to pipes for indication of leaks.
  • Welding pipe supports to structural steel members.
  • Using tools, including power tools, and equipment.
  • Loading, transporting, and unloading material, tools, equipment, and supplies.
  • Maintaining and checking own small tools and equipment.
  • Working both inside and outside.
  • Performing other duties as required.

Essential Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills Experience:

  • Experience in a similar role within a mechanical contracting environment.
  • Capability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multi-functional team.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Valid Safe Pass and Manual Handling certification.
  • Own transport is also a necessity for this position.
