Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and qualified Site Manager to oversee and manage HVAC servicing contracts for a leading commercial plumbing company. The ideal candidate will be a fully qualified plumber with at least 10 years of hands-on experience in commercial plumbing and HVAC systems. This role requires excellent leadership, technical, and organizational skills to ensure the successful delivery of projects, compliance with industry standards, and client satisfaction.

Key ResponsibilitiesSite Management
  • Oversee all aspects of HVAC servicing contracts, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Manage day-to-day site operations, including supervising technicians, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Ensure all work complies with relevant health and safety standards, regulations, and company policies.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, identify issues, and implement solutions promptly.
  • Coordinate resources, materials, and equipment to ensure seamless site operations.
Technical Expertise
  • Provide technical guidance and support to the team on plumbing and HVAC servicing tasks.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues on-site, ensuring minimal disruption to clients.
  • Ensure all servicing and repairs meet industry standards and manufacturer specifications.
Client and Stakeholder Communication
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing their concerns and providing regular updates on project progress.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring a high level of satisfaction and trust.
  • Liaise with the Contracts Manager, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure project alignment and smooth communication.
Team Leadership
  • Supervise and mentor site staff, ensuring they are trained, motivated, and performing effectively.
  • Allocate tasks and responsibilities to team members based on their skills and expertise.
  • Conduct toolbox talks, briefings, and training sessions to maintain high standards of safety and workmanship.
Compliance and Documentation
  • Ensure all work adheres to relevant regulations, such as gas safety, water regulations, and HVAC servicing standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of work completed, materials used, and any variations to the original contract.
  • Prepare and submit site reports, timesheets, and other documentation to management as required.
RequirementsQualifications
  • Fully qualified plumber with recognized plumbing certifications (e.g., NVQ Level 3 in Plumbing, City & Guilds).
  • Additional HVAC-related qualifications are highly desirable (e.g., F-Gas certification, ACOPS or equivalent).
Experience
  • Minimum of 10 years experience in commercial plumbing, including HVAC servicing.
  • Proven track record of managing sites and teams within the commercial plumbing industry.
  • Extensive experience with HVAC systems, including installation, maintenance, and servicing.
Technical Skills
  • Strong understanding of commercial HVAC systems, plumbing regulations, and servicing requirements.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and specifications.
  • Proficient in using project management tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
Soft Skills
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate staff.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to manage client relationships and team dynamics.
  • Highly organized with exceptional time management and problem-solving abilities.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
Preferred Qualifications
  • CSCS card (managerial level) or equivalent.
  • SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) certification.
  • First Aid at Work qualification.
  • Membership in a professional body such as CIPHE (Chartered Institute of Plumbing and Heating Engineering).
