Job Description

At IPS, you will apply your knowledge, skills, and passion to make a difference in the lives of people, solving complex challenges related to pharmaceutical, biotech, and animal health research and manufacturing facilities. We are looking for an MEP CAD Designer (Revit) to join our CAD/BIM team out of our office located in either our Cork or Dublin offices in Ireland.

Position Responsibilities

  • Develops design concepts; prepares documents during the design development phase.
  • Develops solutions to design problems.
  • Uses computer-aided design technologies to develop sketches, drawings, and construction documents.
  • Reviews drawings and documents to ensure compliance with company design and production standards.
  • Attends pre-bid meetings and assists the project team in evaluating commercial proposals.
  • Works with equipment suppliers/vendors to obtain the necessary information needed for design completion.
  • Routinely archives and retrieves data from electronic databases for support of work.
  • Researches equipment selection from catalogues under the direction of the Project Designer/Engineer.
  • Ensures acceptable levels of quality and checks for coordination of work to ensure documents reflect design intent and necessary coordination.
  • Attends job and construction meetings and participates in the coordination of the work.
  • Researches non-routine code issues and obtains interpretations from code officials.
  • Provides limited contribution to performance reviews for assigned staff.

Qualifications & Requirements
  • Proficient in the use of computers for design and understanding CAD operations.
  • General knowledge of mechanical and electrical system design.
  • Understanding and knowledge of applicable codes.
  • Proven time management skills in order to juggle more than one project at a time.
  • Customer Service experience exhibiting strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience designing in Revit.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A technical or associate degree in drafting and/or design from an accredited technical institution or college.
  • Process industrial experience, especially in the Life Sciences industries.
