As the Solution Architect, Movement you will design and govern the solution landscape for new and existing systems to ensure the Technology solutions directly support the business landscape. The person will provide hands-on architecture and design of the solution and map these into the strategic direction to ensure the future-proofing of Primark's Technology systems.

You will work alongside the Movement Tech team to ensure all designs for solutions will meet the Primark requirements and business case. This role will work closely with our chosen technology partners on our depot investment programme.

What You'll Do:
In your role, you'll collaborate with different people across a range of skill sets. Here's a flavour of your day-to-day:
  • Provides thought leadership in Solution Design, Product Architecture and Technology strategy, create cost-optimised, scalable solutions and provides innovation and efficiency within solution design/improvement.
  • Provides detailed guidance to multi-functional teams through project planning and other large collaboration efforts. Fosters an environment of open communication and problem-solving.
  • Works closely with Primark's chosen technology partners to implement solutions to Primark's technology and architecture standards, challenging the status quo where necessary to ensure those standards are met.
  • Develops long-term vision of technologies and solutions in the space. Collaborates with Technology leadership in planning and implementing of technology roadmaps. Assists the team in researching solutions, solicits input from outside industry experts and recommends solutions to meet business requirements.
What You'll Bring

  • Educated to degree level in a Computing or business discipline or equivalent.
  • Exposure to mission-critical High Availability design and deployment in large transaction volume environments
  • Previous experience of managing complex integration projects in a highly pressurised environment is a prerequisite.
  • Previous experience in Supply Chain solution design, implementation and management.
  • Understanding of Warehouse processes and systems is a distinct advantage.
  • The Solution Architect must be an excellent communicator, an effective problem solver and well-able to motivate an existing strong technical team.
  • The Solution Architect must be able to, where necessary, push back on Primark's partners and hold them to account to ensure the correct result is obtained.
  • Experience in TOGAF and ITIL methodologies and delivering using them.
