The Team

There is a great opportunity to join our Structural Engineering Team in Dublin. We are looking for a structural engineer with approximately 5 years of experience who is passionate about creative design and structural analysis, interested in complex structures and the challenges that come with them, and has strong digital engineering and modelling skills. You will be based in our multicultural and multidisciplinary Dublin office and will be working with us on the design of some of the most exciting and prestigious projects locally and internationally.

The Role

As part of our established team of expert engineers and technicians, and working closely with colleagues of various disciplines, you will lead a project team in delivering projects including the preparation of detailed structural calculations, specifications and drawing packages. This will involve all structural materials, and use of appropriate software.

You will work across a variety of sectors such as education, commercial, critical systems, scitech and residential, and will have the opportunity over time to assume greater levels of responsibility and autonomy as your professional skills continue to develop, and as you work and are supported beyond Chartership.

The Skills

Having already been accredited with at MEng degree level (or equivalent) you will be close to being or will have recently become Chartered with IStructE or Engineers Ireland. You will have gained strong practical experience of structural engineering within a consultancy environment, and a competent level of relevant IT skills including using structural design software such as Robot, Masterseries and TEDDS with familiarity of coordinating projects using BIM 360. Experience in local design standards and experience of BcAR is essential.

You have proven ability to produce creative design solutions in multiple materials including steel, reinforced concrete and masonry. Crucially, you will have a passion for creative, sustainable low carbon and intuitive design and to be able to demonstrate this.

Given the collaborative and client-focused nature of this role, excellent communication skills and experience of using your initiative to overcome challenges are essential.
