Drumnigh Montessori Primary School seeks a Montessori Elementary Teacher (6-12) to join our team to foster independence, curiosity, and community in our students. This position is a maternity contract (January-June 2025), working in partnership with a co-lead in the classroom. We welcome applications from qualified teachers who demonstrate a thorough understanding of Montessori principles.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Montessori Diploma (6-12) qualification from AMI, St Nicholas, AMS, or equivalent (QQI Level 7 or above).
  • Experience as lead guide in a Montessori elementary classroom (6-12) setting is required, experience as lead guide for upper elementary (9-12) is preferred.
  • Experience teaching the National Primary Curriculum (Ireland) is preferred. Ability to teach Irish language (Gaeilge) curriculum desired, but not necessary.
  • Essential for a successful guide is the ability to care for and nurture each child’s potential in a diverse community of learners.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with parents and staff, lesson planning, good organizational skills, and willingness to assist with administrative tasks are key skills for this role.
  • Certificates in First Aid, Children First, and Manual Handling will be required.
  • Candidates should have residency or permission to work in Ireland. Garda vetting, other police vetting, references, and qualification check will be required.

Our school is a registered AATI (Association of AMI Teachers of Ireland) and accredited IMEB (Irish Montessori Education Board) school. We have a supportive parent community and provide a welcoming, collaborative environment, catering for up to 66 students.
