Our client is seeking to hire a Payroll & Accounts Payable Assistant in South Mayo

This is a full-time role that will prioritise the processing of the weekly payroll for approximately 150 employees with the balance of available time dedicated to supporting the accounts payable department.

Role & Responsibilities

  1. Manage and process payroll for all employees in a timely manner ensuring that timesheets are received and processed.
  2. Ensure accurate calculation of wages, overtime, deductions, and benefits.
  3. Process payroll adjustments, including corrections.
  4. Address employee inquiries related to payroll, benefits, and deductions.
  5. Ensure compliance with Irish payroll regulations, including PAYE, PRSI, and USC.
  6. Prepare and submit statutory payroll reports and tax filings.
  7. Utilise payroll software to process payroll and generate reports.
  8. Maintain and update payroll records and employee information.
  9. Assist in the preparation of payroll-related financial reports and reconciliations.
  10. Work closely with HR and accounting departments to streamline payroll procedures and resolve any payroll-related issues.
  11. Responsible for receiving, processing, verifying, and reconciling invoices & supplier statements.
  12. Check, match and record supplier invoices, ensuring compliance with company policy, including approvals, matching to order number and delivery documentation.
  13. Posting invoices and credit notes to company accounts package.

Key Requirements

  1. Previous experience in a payroll position.
  2. Good knowledge of all aspects of payroll processing.
  3. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  4. Excellent attention to detail.
  5. Possesses the highest degree of integrity and confidentiality.
  6. Ability to plan, organise, and prioritise workload and to meet deadlines.
  7. Self-motivated with the ability to take initiative.
  8. Proficiency in payroll software and Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word).
