Reporting to the Senior Manager Provider Services, the Provider Services Specialist will be responsible for supporting the implementation of our out of hospital healthcare provider relationship strategy to improve our customers' health care experience, enable delivery of best practice care, and build strong collaborative relationships with medical and non-hospital healthcare providers.

The role will support the end-to-end management of our out of hospital clinics and medical consultants. Responsibilities include contract negotiations, ongoing relationship management, and monitoring the provision of quality, appropriate, and innovative services to ILH members.

The key responsibilities of the role will include:
  1. Support the implementation of our annual and medium-term negotiation strategy for medical consultants.
  2. Support the negotiation and management of contracts and agreements with medical consultants and out of hospital providers.
  3. Develop a deep understanding of consultant activity, claims patterns, and associated outcomes.
  4. Continuously review schedule rules/codes in terms of pricing and align with Consultant issues and new developments.
  5. Perform data analysis and reporting on codes in usage and volumes.
  6. Support the end-to-end delivery of our annual schedule of medical professional fees.
  7. Resolve contract/schedule issues and support management in resolution.
  8. Manage interactions with billing agencies regarding claim queries and annual distribution.
  9. Liaise and manage issues with internal ILH teams in relation to the schedule of medical professional fees.
  10. Support the team in devising a plan of action for internal changes due to market changes.
What you will help us to achieve
  1. A relevant specialist third level qualification.
  2. Good financial experience, with at least 2 years in a similar role, preferably in a Private/Public Hospital or Private Medical Insurer.
  3. Strong commercial focus and excellent business acumen.
  4. A proven track record in establishing rapport and trust for efficient negotiations.
  5. Ability to negotiate in fast-moving and pressured situations.
  6. Strong understanding of the healthcare industry.
  7. Flexibility to attend occasional onsite meetings.
  8. A passion for delivering excellent customer service and improving member experience.
