About the Role

As an Engineering Manager at Health Innovation Labs, you will lead and manage a team of talented software engineers, fostering a high-performance and collaborative environment. You will provide mentorship, guidance, and strategic direction, ensuring that the engineering team aligns with the organization's goals while driving innovation and excellence in platform development.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of software engineers, providing support, mentorship, and career development guidance.
  • Establish team prioritization strategies, ensuring alignment with the company's strategic vision and objectives.
  • Anticipate critical challenges and proactively develop solutions that support long-term organizational goals.
  • Define and uphold quality benchmarks across multiple engineering teams.
  • Oversee the feature delivery process, ensuring timely and successful execution from conception to deployment.
  • Facilitate effective communication within the team and across departments, mentoring engineers to enhance their communication skills.
  • Lead discussions on complex technical challenges, focusing on actionable outcomes and strategic goals.
  • Set standards for reliability across projects, ensuring consistency and best practices within and across teams.
  • Define, document, and promote development best practices across multiple engineering domains.
  • Drive large-scale, cross-team projects, demonstrating expert coordination and collaboration.
  • Advocate for and implement strategic tooling solutions that support both immediate needs and long-term growth.

About You

  • Proven experience leading a software engineering team and improving software delivery performance.
  • Strong background in software development, maintenance, and system integration.
  • Ability to set clear goals and objectives, aligning platform development with strategic business needs, particularly in the medical technology sector.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and improvement, fostering a culture of innovation and optimization for internal and external platform users.
  • Experience with cloud technologies is highly desirable, with AWS being required and GCP appreciated.
  • Familiarity with DevOps, CI/CD, and best practices for platform security and reliability.
  • Strong ability to drive organizational buy-in for security and platform changes.
  • Experience in a similar role is advantageous.
