Our client, a leading Wealth Management firm, is seeking a Legal Director to join the firm's Legal team on a permanent contract. The job will report to the General Counsel and involve a focus on ensuring the firm meets strategic ambitions while providing legal support on a broad range of matters.

Key Responsibilities of the Legal Director will include:

  • Support the General Counsel on management of key strategic growth projects and commercial contract management duties.
  • Advise key stakeholders on matters to ensure a coordinated response to legal challenges for key projects and contracts for the business.
  • Facilitate the implementation of appropriate legal strategy including standardization and streamlining of legal review processes.
  • Support in developing and managing the legal function whilst driving capability, capacity, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Identify legal risks and suggest alternative strategies that may lead to optimal business solutions.

Key Requirements of the Legal Director will include:

  • At least 10+ years post-qualification experience either within a law firm or in-house with senior level responsibilities.
  • Qualified Solicitor with a law degree or holder of equivalent overseas professional legal qualification.
  • Strong experience in private practice and/or in-house in a range of disciplines is essential, with particular focus on corporate, financial regulation, employment, pensions, property, and banking and finance.
  • Strong knowledge and experience of the Irish regulatory framework as well as experience in the financial services industry is preferred.
  • Ability to independently, quickly, and accurately assess legal, practical, and business risks and to present this advice to non-legal leadership personnel.
