If successful in this role, you will be joining a Facilities Management Maintenance Team on an expanding and technically advanced laboratory campus located in Celbridge, Co. Kildare.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
The role of Maintenance Technician (Cleanroom / Laboratory Containment) entails a variety of tasks including the following:
Monitor and maintain the various systems and plant associated with and critical to the containment laboratories and associated areas.
Maintain appropriate records for all works carried out.
Proactively identify and remedy equipment maintenance problems in order to maximise equipment uptime.
Carry out fault resolution, repairs/adjustments and testing of equipment as authorised by the Biosecurity Team.
Supervise individuals and contractors working in areas associated with containment.
Respond to all technical and non-technical queries in a timely manner to ensure conformance with the response and rectification times laid out in the SLA.
Source and stock spare parts as required to ensure minimum stock levels are maintained at all times.
Ensure all works are completed and closed within the agreed timeframes.
Ensure equipment is safe, working efficiently and fit for purpose.
Ensure good housekeeping practices are maintained at all times.
Ensure that all work is carried out in compliance with relevant biosafety regulations.
Communicate with the Biosecurity Team in relation to equipment issues.
Assist in the investigation of alarms, collection of data and compilation of reports.
Assist in planning and executing a range of technical duties to cover mechanical, electrical and general building fabric maintenance.
Assist in the training of other technical staff on the operation and workings of plant.
Play an integral and proactive role in the Biosecurity Team.
Interact regularly with the client's laboratory teams.
Attend all training specific to the role.
Respond to emergency breakdowns throughout the wider campus.
Respond to emergency situations with a focus on the containment areas and the safety of the personnel and systems therein.
On a rota basis, be part of the remote out-of-hours support team, specifically where laboratory containment related issues occur.
On occasion, there is a requirement to comply with self-imposed quarantine for a period of no longer than 72 hours, avoiding farms or zoos.
The offer of employment is subject to successful completion of Garda Vetting by the employee.
The employee will be required to submit a DNA sample for inclusion in the National DNA Database managed by Forensic Science Ireland
The employee is required to accept, sign and adhere to a Non-Disclosure Confidentiality Agreement.
Qualifications and Experience
Trade or Degree in an Engineering, Facilities Management or Scientific Field is advantageous.
Have a minimum of 3 years' experience working with HVAC systems, water treatment and/or other relevant systems/utilities.
Have experience of containment, biosecurity or cleanroom environments.
Possess excellent problem solving and trouble shooting ability.
Possess excellent communication skills both in writing and verbally.
Be computer literate including Microsoft Office suite - Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and various BMS front-end systems.
BMS proficiency is beneficial, especially Cylon and Scada
Possess good electrical and mechanical experience. Formal training /certification in any of the above would be advantageous.
Have good knowledge of equipment lifecycle.
