Software Development Engineer, Security

Our team creates services that continuously scan, identify, and report on potential security threats for AWS. We deal with immense quantities of data from millions of sources to monitor and support hundreds of AWS teams keep their services secure. On-Call Responsibility
This position involves on-call responsibilities, typically for one week every two months. We don't like getting paged in the middle of the night or on the weekend, so we work to ensure that our systems are fault tolerant. When we do get paged, we work together to resolve the root cause so that we don't get paged for the same issue twice.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team- Experience leading the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems
- Experience in professional, non-internship software development
- Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design
- Experience in development in the last 3 years
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent- Experience with full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
