The ideal candidate will have a background in occupational health and safety or environmental, whether that be through hands-on work experience or academic experience. The SHEQ Officer will collaborate with various departments to create a culture of SHEQ. Responsibilities

• Identify potential hazards, risks, and environmental impacts in the workplace, report on internal systems, and recommend appropriate control measures.
• Conduct regular safety inspections, environmental assessments & audits to ensure compliance with regulations and standards.
• Provide training to employees, contractors, and visitors.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and quality issues, and develop and implement corrective actions.
• Monitor workplace conditions to prevent occupational health issues and promote employee well-being.
• Ensure compliance with local and regional regulations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address SHEQ concerns.
• Develop and maintain emergency response plans and conduct drills as needed.
• Promote a culture of SHEQ excellence throughout the organization.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance SHEQ processes.

Qualifications

• Qualification in Occupational Health and Safety and Environmental would be an advantage.
• Proven experience as a EHS Officer or in a similar role, preferably in a high-risk industry.
• Strong analytical skills to identify hazards, risks, and improvement opportunities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to train employees and collaborate across departments.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and documentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.
