Base pay rangeRole: Product Security Engineer
Salary: Up to €55,000
Location: Limerick (2/3 days remote)
Industry: Medical Technology
You will drive the implementation of security requirements and secure coding standards (e.g., NIST SP 800-53, OWASP, MS Secure Coding Standards). You’ll assess product designs, conduct security risk assessments, and support teams in remediating vulnerabilities in both new and existing products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support teams in reducing product risk by implementing security best practices.
- Guide R&D teams in secure software architecture, covering encryption, authentication, audit logging, patch management, and vulnerability monitoring.
- Conduct security risk assessments and provide remediation guidance.
- Align software engineering procedures with product security requirements.
- Develop and manage Product Security Documentation, ensuring timely review and approval.
- Collaborate across technical teams, ensuring security integration across Systems, Hardware, Quality, and Technical Services.
- Ensure compliance with development policies, quality management systems, and regulatory standards.
About You:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3+ years of experience in IT security, secure software development, or risk management.
- Knowledge of encryption, PKI, embedded device security, and network security fundamentals.
- Familiarity with vulnerability scans, static/dynamic code analysis, and secure coding practices.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in regulated environments (e.g., FDA, MDR).
Nice to Have: CISSP, CASP+, CSSLP certifications, experience with security traceability matrices, and medical device security knowledge.
