Overview

The Retail Relationship Market Manager is responsible for leading teams of sales and service professionals, for one or more branch locations, to meet and exceed all sales goals and client experience targets. Manages all aspects of sales development, operations, and client experience activities within the assigned branches. Provides coaching, training, and development to all branch team members, ensuring complete commitment to the Bank’s Core Values and overall business objectives. Delivers financial service products to current and potential clients while meeting established sales and deposit goals and objectives as well as ensuring regulatory compliance within the assigned branches. Maintains a strong focus on growing current client relationships, external business development, and community involvement to achieve maximum branch growth, profitability, and superior name recognition for the Bank.

  • Contributes to the continuous growth and profitability of the branch or branches by actively identifying and pursuing new business development opportunities and ensuring continued client experience and retention of all existing relationships.
  • Improves revenues and expenses and creates an environment that exceeds client expectations. Coordinates and supports the team effort in referring leads to offices and other lines of business.
  • Works closely with all business partners to ensure complete client relationship building and achievement of all production goals and objectives for the branch or branches.
  • Maintains a strong presence within the local community or communities through active involvement and leadership roles in various professional organizations and community events.
  • Focuses on proactive and innovative branch initiatives to promote branch growth, client retention, and achievement of all annual production goals and key objectives.
  • Provides strong leadership through effective communications, coaching, and leading by example.
  • Develops the staff for career opportunities; manages the performance and development of employees within the branch or branches which results in high performance, a team environment, and positive employee morale.
  • Conducts weekly sales meetings and daily observations of the client experience, ensuring that the clients are receiving superior client service and needs-based relationship building techniques are being applied through effective profiling.
  • Manages performance standards; develops staff to build cohesive and effective teams.
  • Conducts individual coaching sessions with each branch team member.
  • Manages the relationship building and client experience process, follow-up activities, and referral lead generation through active use of EnAct, the Bank’s CRM System.
  • Understands and embraces the corporate vision.
  • A leader in the development, expansion, and management of consumer and business account relationships within a branch or branches, concentrating efforts in meeting client’s financial needs. Identifies clients with additional profit potential and develops action plans to expand these relationships.
  • Ensures the products and services recommended to clients are an appropriate fit for them. Builds the relationship as appropriate.
  • Has a basic understanding of Cash Management Products and Services.
  • Measures service levels against client experiences and expectations.
  • In the performance of respective duties, must maintain knowledge of and ensure compliance with Bank Secrecy Act regulations and all other regulatory, security, and bank policies.
  • Ensures branch teams comply with all policies, practices, and procedures.
  • Overall responsible for the financial and operational performance of their branches.
  • Performs other duties as may be assigned.
  • Responsible for the interviewing, hiring, performance evaluation, and disciplinary action for the staff within the assigned branch or branches.
Qualifications
  • A Bachelor’s degree or comparable professional training is required.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in banking or a financial institution required, of which at least 3 years has been in a supervisory position.
  • Ability to meet/exceed client experience needs, identify client/project needs.
  • Knowledge of bank’s products, services, sweep accounts, concepts & techniques, and cash management services.
  • Ability to model Relationship Building Techniques and effectively cross-sell.
  • Ability to resolve client questions and/or complaints.
  • Ability to manage staff and resolve conflict.
  • Ability to foster open communication, deliver presentations, and demonstrate listening, speaking, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to answer questions effectively, build client relationships, and build internal and external networks.
  • Ability to act with integrity, demonstrate adaptability, work commitment, and maintain a positive performance in all situations.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, and Outlook.
  • Ability to interact effectively and tactfully with all levels of the Bank.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak clearly.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

Directs work of others, including planning, assigning, scheduling, and reviewing work, ensuring quality standards. Is responsible for hiring, terminating, training and developing, reviewing performance, and administering corrective action for staff. Plans organizational structure and job content.
