POSITION SUMMARY:

The Financial Data Analyst is responsible for assisting the Global Innovation & R&D Controlling department in the control & reporting of the Scientific Innovation Office.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Perform month-end close duties such as journal entries and management reports.
  2. Develop a deep understanding of ongoing R&D operations and the most updated status of all R&D projects to add maximum value to the organization.
  3. Manage actuals versus budget to allow R&D to attain targets.
  4. Oversee maintenance of R&D tracking systems and work to enhance/develop improved project tracking capabilities.
  5. Develop methodologies and execute processes to create meaningful representations of data for R&D project tracking as required by management.
  6. Perform the business budget and forecasting process.
  7. Manage the monthly/year-end closing and financial reporting process, including analysis of operating results and budget versus actual reporting, with detailed explanations of variances.
  8. Provide support for special projects and ad hoc requests.
  9. Prepare business cases and financial evaluations for current pipeline projects and new business opportunities.
  10. Assist in maintaining the cost accounting system, involving master data and project portfolio.

PERSON SPECIFICATION:

  1. Requires planning, analytical, communication, and management skills, with a demonstrated ability to provide presentation, documentation, and leadership skills within a team-oriented environment.
  2. Ability to handle multiple tasks to meet deadlines in a dynamic environment is essential.
  3. Problem-solving skills.
  4. Demonstrate willingness to adapt and learn new systems & procedures.
  5. Ability to perform financial analysis, pros vs cons, and deliver clear and concise presentations to management.
  6. Ethics – this position handles various confidential records and sensitive financial statements, requiring a candidate with high moral standards.
  7. Proficiency in SAP, MS Office, SAC, Analysis for Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and AI.

Qualifications:

  1. BA in Accounting or Finance.
  2. Minimum 3-5 years relevant experience, preferably in multinational corporations.
  3. Excellent communication skills across all levels.
  4. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Spanish.
  5. Experience in Pharma.
