The role

As a Concrete Technician you will be required to:

  • Assess Mix Designs for Block/Concrete/Mortar/Precast
  • Examine cement contents
  • Check cube results and block strength
  • Examine relationship between all the mix designs & compare it to cube results
  • Examine admixtures including water reducers & superplasticizers
  • Examine mortar admixtures with air entrainer and retarders
  • Organise system for weekly reporting to the Managing Director of cube results, block results and changes to aggregate gradings
  • Aggregates - Carry out sieve analysis and PSD on all aggregates

Requirements:

  • A recognised 3rd level qualification in Civil Engineering
  • Practical hands-on experience in concrete testing, mixing, and placement is crucial.
  • Prior work in a construction-related field is beneficial.
  • Strong attention to detail is essential for accurately testing and documenting concrete properties.
  • Knowledge of concrete mix design and understanding of materials used in concrete production.
  • Familiarity with relevant testing equipment and procedures.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Understanding of industry standards and specifications for concrete.
  • Knowledge of relevant codes and regulations related to concrete construction.
