Vhi Group Technology have a full-time, permanent, vacancy for the role of Business Analyst (Health & Wellbeing). The successful candidate will be instrumental to the successful planning and implementation of a range of projects under Health & Wellbeing's strategic transformation programme. Supporting the investigation, analysis, design & configuration, testing and implementation of new systems, and upgrades of existing systems within Health and Wellbeing, the Business analyst will act as an agent of change within Vhi, liaising with a variety of stakeholders including clinicians and internal stakeholders.

Role purpose:
  • Define and manage scoping, requirements definition and prioritisation activities for initiatives. Contribute to selecting the requirements approach. Facilitate input from stakeholders, provide constructive challenge and enable effective prioritisation of requirements. Establish requirements base-lines, obtain formal agreement to requirements, and ensure traceability to source.
  • Apply standard techniques and tools for developing user stories and eliciting user experience requirements. Organise and structure user experience analysis. Work with stakeholders to prioritise requirements and resolve conflicts.
  • Follow standard techniques to investigate and analyse the size, nature and impact of changes to operational activities. Contribute to the recommendations for change management plans and actions. Support implementation and engages with stakeholders under direction.
  • Manage the execution of business process improvements. Analyses and designs business processes to identify alternative solutions to improve efficiency, effectiveness and exploit new technologies and automation. Develop graphical models of business processes to facilitate understanding and decision-making. Assesses the feasibility of business process changes and recommends alternative approaches. Select, tailor and implement method and tools for improving business processes at programme, project or team level. Contribute to the definition of organisational policies, standards, and guidelines for business process improvement.
  • Investigate straightforward business situations to identify and analyse problems and opportunities. Contribute to the recommendation of improvements. Follow agreed standards and techniques to investigate, analyse and document business situations. Engage with stakeholders under direction.
  • Provide advice and guidance to support the adoption of methods and tools and adherence to policies and standards. Tailor processes in line with agreed standards and evaluation of methods and tools. Review and improve usage and application of methods and tools.
  • Establish, modify or maintain simple data structures and associated components. Use specific data modelling and design techniques under guidance.
  • Conduct research on best practice and benchmark as appropriate.
Key Criteria
Education and experience
  • Minimum 3 years relevant work experience as a business analyst or working in a change role
  • Relevant third level qualification and/or business analyst professional qualification
Technical knowledge
  • General knowledge or education in project delivery methodologies
  • Understanding of the complexities of implementing a commercial off the shelf software solution.
  • Knowledge of the tools and techniques of business analysis from requirements elicitation through to dev, test, UAT and business readiness.
  • An analytical, logical and flexible approach to problem-solving
  • Ability to write concise documents with a strong attention to detail.
  • Proficient in MS office
Interpersonal
  • Strong stakeholder and relationship management skills with strong negotiation and communication skills
  • Proven ability to collaborate and perform on diverse fast paced teams
  • Strong Aptitude to learn quickly and apply knowledge across different contexts
  • Highly motivated with strong work ethic and the ability to work independently
  • Demonstrated alignment to the Vhi values.
Desirable
  • Knowledge or willingness to learn healthcare IT/eHealth projects e.g. PAS, Pathology, EMR
  • Knowledge or willingness to learn national health informatics standards such as FHIR or HL7
  • Awareness or willingness to learn the processes, procedures and workflows related to the collection and storage of clinical patient information
