Misty Croft is excited to announce the opening of a new residential service and is currently recruiting for Full Time, Part Time, and Relief Social Care Workers for their Separated Children Seeking International Protection Centre, located between Kells & Navan, Co. Meath.
Who We AreMisty Croft was established to provide high-quality residential and ancillary services to young people seeking international protection. We are committed to working intensively with young people and support networks through a clearly identified model of care, where reflective practice is at the core of all engagements. We promote therapeutic child and youth care engagement in a safe environment where the young person is at the centre of all planning, activities, decisions, interventions, and reviews.
Separated children seeking international protection are under 18, outside their country of origin, and may need international protection. Many of these children have high levels of vulnerability and have experienced significant trauma.
Role and ResponsibilitiesAs a Social Care Worker / Relief Social Care Worker, working as part of a team, you will be responsible for the day-to-day activities in the residential centre. You will collaborate closely with the Social Care Team Leader and Social Care Manager to create and maintain a warm, accepting, and secure environment for the young people. You will play a key role in delivering the highest standard of therapeutic residential services.
What We Offer- Attractive starting salary for Full-time Social Care Workers: €44,187 - €47,412 per annum (depending on experience), inclusive of sleeping time and premiums.
- Incremental salary scale
- Shift patterns including 24-hour shifts and 12-hour shifts
- Continued professional development opportunities
We invite candidates with a variety of social care-related qualifications from Level 7 or Level 8 achieved in Ireland or internationally to apply. Suitable qualifications include:
- QQI Level 8 in Psychology
- QQI Level 7 or Professional Practice Qualification in Child & Adolescent Psychotherapy
- QQI Level 7 or Professional Practice Qualification in Counselling / Psychotherapy
- QQI Level 7 or Professional Practice Qualification in Addiction Counselling
- QQI Level 7 in Youth and Community or similar
- QQI Level 7 in Social Science / Social Studies
- QQI Level 7 in Family Support
- Professional Qualification in Teaching (excluding TEFL)
- Professional Qualification in Nursing Studies
- QQI Level 7 in Disability Studies
- QQI Level 7 in Applied Behavioural Analysis
- BA in Applied Policing or equivalent
- Holder of Higher Certificate in Custodial Care (Irish Prison Service) or equivalent
Additional requirements include:
- Knowledge of child safeguarding and reporting responsibilities
- Knowledge of relevant childcare legislation and national standards for children's residential centres
- Good report writing skills
- Experience working with culturally diverse backgrounds is an advantage
- A full driving license
- Experience working with vulnerable young people and families in community or residential settings
