Summary/Overview:

Data Operations is part of the Data Management and focuses on creating and managing KBRA's Ratings Data. This role involves working collaboratively with analytical teams, IT, and others to ensure procedures support business needs and compliance with regulatory requirements. The candidate will ensure the smooth daily operation of Ratings Data Entry, custom reporting, issue escalation, and collaboration with internal analytical teams regarding the rating management process.

The Junior Data Steward is expected to become a subject matter expert on the database, data model, and systems used and managed by the Data Operations team. Candidates must have good communication and organizational skills, high data quality standards, and be adept with SQL querying and report creation.

About the Job:

  • Support the Analytical Business Units by capturing and processing data into a centralized database.
  • Follow established standard operating procedures for data processing and improve automation of manual processes.
  • Synthesize information from various sources, including internal documents from analysts' work products under supervision.
  • Analyze data records and support database quality by evaluating data sources and implementing updates.
  • Assist in new deal and entity creation processes.
  • Handle ad hoc data updates and projects under supervision.
  • Participate in data management projects, including data analysis, profiling, and quality.
  • Draft documentation for data collection, storage, and use rules.
  • Independently support EU/UK offices during US Holidays after adequate training (3 to 6 months).

You will be successful in this role if you have:

  • Minimum of 1+ years of data entry or data management experience.
  • Bachelor's degree is required.
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively in a demanding environment.
  • Experience in financial markets, specifically fixed income and entity management, is beneficial.
  • Strong attention to detail and self-motivation for accurate, timely work products.
  • Exceptional customer service skills and ability to communicate effectively with various seniority levels.
  • Basic knowledge of SQL.
  • Intermediate knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word).
  • Self-starter with the ability to deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Desire to learn and grow in the role.

Preferred Experience:

  • At least 1 year of experience in a global financial services organization, including internships.
  • A business-related degree; Science or Engineering skills are also considered transferable.
  • Experience in a support team handling data systems and solving problems under pressure.
