Job Summary 

We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Chef to join our culinary team, preferably with a quality background or that of a high-volume kitchen or contract services. In this role, you will part of a team that wants to succeed and deliver a great customer experience and excellent food. The role will be taking responsibility for the safe preparation and batch cooking of foods using our HACCP systems to ensure safe well cooked and prepared foods to the recommended legal requirements for various outlets around the Estate, assist in all areas in different outlets when required. An astute awareness of HACCP procedures, a strong cleaning, organisational mentality so that the work environment is safe, Hygienic and well maintained throughout the kitchen. Responsibilities include preparation, portioning meals, organizing kitchen equipment, and ensuring food safety standards are met. You will also assist in receiving and storing supplies always ensuring best quality. This position offers an opportunity to learn from experienced chefs and develop culinary skills in a dynamic happy and team focused kitchen environment. 

Principle Responsibilities  

  • To ensure that sufficient Mis en place is always present. 
  • Be organized and ensure work environment always adheres to EHO regulations. 
  •  Be punctual and always take pride in your work and with a positive attitude.   
  • Ensure that a clean ironed uniform is present each day, white jacket, black trousers, striped bib apron, skull cap and personal hygiene is at the forefront in cooking, blast chilling and correct storage of all foods. 
  • Follow recipes and work closely with senior chef to ensure good yields while also keeping margins. 
  • Maintain cleanliness and tidiness in the kitchen area, freezers, and fridges. 
  • Help with portioning and plating of dishes to ensure consistency and presentation standards are met. 
  • Assist in receiving and storing food supplies, rotating stock, and notifying senior chefs when supplies need replenishing. 
  • Ensure that workstations and kitchen equipment are kept clean and organized. 
  • Assist in setting up and operating kitchen equipment, such as ovens, stoves, and mixers, following safety guidelines. 
  • Adhere to food safety and hygiene regulations, implementing best practices in food handling and sanitation. 
  • Accommodate special dietary requests and allergies, as instructed by the senior chefs. 
  • Actively learn from and follow the guidance of the kitchen leadership, seeking to improve culinary skills. 
  • Assist in the preparation and execution of special events and banquets, collaborating with the culinary team. 
  • Be willing to adapt to changing kitchen demands and work under the guidance of different senior chefs.

Required Experience & Skills   

  • Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in a contract-service 
  • Flexibility to work in shifts, including weekends and evenings. 
  • Good organizational skills. 
  • Flexibility regarding working hours. 
  • Good standard and comprehension of English. 
  • Consistent and reliable approach to your team and all things culinary  
  • Maintain and expect high standards of honesty, integrity, reliability, and punctuality. 
  • Eligibility to work in Ireland
