Job Summary:

We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated Home Care Assistant to join our team at Hibernia Home Care. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality care and support to our clients in their homes. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be patient, empathetic and have a passion for caring for others.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting clients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting

  • Providing prompting with prescribed medication

  • Preparing and serving meals and snacks

  • Light housekeeping duties such as vacuuming, dusting, and laundry

  • Assisting clients with mobility and transfers

  • Providing companionship and emotional support to clients

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 6 months experience in a care-giving role

  • QQI Level 5 in Healthcare or equivalent - must have 2 modules 'Care Skills' and 'Care of the Older Person' at a minimum (If you do not hold these qualifications, please take a look at our Hibernia Academy )

  • Full driving license and access to a car is desirable, but not essential depending on location

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings and weekends

  • We can only employ individuals who are Irish Nationals, EU nationals or those who have pre-existing work authorisation.
