Responsibilities:

Collaborate with the Senior Engineer and construction team to review designs and associated work programmes. Take instructions from the Senior Engineer, understanding both short-term and long-term goals. Regularly review plans and adapt to changes as needed. Maintain daily communication with the Senior Engineer and the construction team to prioritize tasks effectively. Provide leadership and mentorship to assistant engineering staff, identifying training needs with guidance from the Senior Engineer. Ensure the construction team has all necessary information to execute the works efficiently. Upload and discuss weekly Request for Information (RFI) schedules with the Senior Engineer, raising RFIs for technical clarifications as needed. Understand the project programme, anticipating when design information is required. Report any potential delays that could impact timelines. Under the Senior Engineer's direction, ensure accurate setting out and dimensional control on-site. Establish primary control procedures and implement a robust monitoring system. Supply technical information for submissions and approvals within set timelines to avoid programme delays. Review Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) to ensure necessary inspections are in place during construction. Generate method statements and risk assessments in collaboration with the team, prioritizing safety and buildability. Conduct inspections of the works as directed by the Senior Engineer. Learn to implement temporary works, aiming to take responsibility once adequately trained. Maintain a detailed project diary as agreed with the Senior Engineer, documenting events that may impact the programme or commercial aspects. Flag any design coordination issues promptly to the Senior Engineer or Design Coordinator, participating in weekly design meetings and utilizing BIM for construction efficiency. Employ the project's quality system to ensure compliance across all trades, requesting training as needed. Ensure contractors adhere to quality control standards, facilitating inspections according to a pre-agreed plan and closing out inspection actions before progressing to the next phase. Maintain the Non-Conformance Report (NCR) register throughout construction, holding contractors accountable and providing weekly updates to the project management and commercial teams. Understand your role in the project close-out process, managing snags effectively to ensure timely handover. Collect and contribute lessons learned during the project for the Schedule of Lessons Learned. Assist in closing out sub-contractor accounts related to your responsibilities.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field. 5-7 years of relevant engineering experience, preferably in the construction and education sectors. Strong knowledge of engineering principles, practices, and regulations. Proficiency in engineering software and tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, etc.). Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with a diverse team. Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
