Flood and Coastal Risk Officer – Grade III

The Office of Public Works (OPW) is the lead agency in co-ordinating flood risk management policy, the flood relief capital programme and the technical assessment of coastal change risks in Ireland. The OPW has also recently been designated as the national lead co-ordinating body for the assessment of coastal change hazards and risks and the assessment of technical options and constraints for managing these risks. Flood Risk Management Services and the Planning and Climate Adaptation Services are the Business Units in the OPW tasked with discharging these responsibilities.

The OPW now requires the assistance of Flood and Coastal Risk Officers Grade III to support the flood and coastal change risk management programme. This is a new role within the OPW, and successful candidates will be assigned to a section of OPW's Flood Risk Management or Planning and Climate Adaptation Services Business Units.

These are entry-level positions, suitable for recent graduates or early-career professionals. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals to join an organisation dedicated to supporting staff to realise their full potential by providing access to professional development opportunities and career progression.

The Flood and Coastal Risk Officer Grade III will assist in the management of projects and technical assessments, studies or research. They will also assist in maintaining and developing management and internal work systems and advise on and promote best practice in flood and coastal risk management and hydrometrics in Ireland.

Full details of the role, including specific eligibility requirements, is available on https://bit.ly/CIWEM_Ad_FCROIII

The closing date for receipt of completed applications is 3pm on Thursday, 2nd October 2025.
