Virtue Integrated Care is seeking applications from experienced Directors of Nursing and/or Person in Charge for this critical leadership role in our newly redeveloped facility.


Full Job Description


The Director of Nursing will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the nursing department, ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards, and fostering a positive, supportive environment for both staff and residents.

You will report directly to the Regional Director & the Registered Provider, and play a key role in managing, developing, and supporting your own team of nursing professionals.

You will provide mentorship and guidance to nursing staff to support their personal and professional growth.


Monitor and evaluate the care provided to residents, implementing improvements where necessary to maintain excellent care standards, and contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures to improve overall care delivery.

Qualifications/Requirements


  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a nurse management role in the health and social care area (required)
  • Post registration management certificate in health or a related field at a minimum of Level 8 qualification on the National Framework of Qualifications, or a nursing post-graduate qualification at a minimum of Level 9 on the National Framework of Qualifications which includes a management or leadership module (required)
  • 6 years' experience as an R.G.N, registered with The Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with residents, family members, team members, management and external bodies e.g. HIQA, HSE, GPs etc.
  • Excellent IT skills essential (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent knowledge of organisation of health services and trends nationally and internationally
  • Excellent Knowledge of HIQA standard and regulations and health and safety requirements
  • Excellent Leadership and Organisational skills.
  • Sound decision making and problem-solving abilities and results driven.
  • Ability to work well and promote a team environment.
  • Willingness to be flexible and adapt to the needs of the company.
